Welcome to Ash Class where learning is fun and we all work as a team.
Our teacher is Mrs Wheatley, who is helped by Mrs Dixson-Smith and Mrs Lemery as our Teaching Assistants. We also have Mrs Readshaw, who volunteers to help us with our Science and Art.
We like to learn through topic work. This way we find out about things through lots of different subjects. For example, our literacy lessons might also include history, geography, music, drama or art. We also enjoy outdoor learning, including trips to Hatfield Forest and finding out about the environment around us.
We have P.E. lessons on Wednesday afternoons taught by Ross Kitteridge and Aaron Cameron-Prior and Thursday mornings by Mrs Wheatley and Mrs Dixson-Smith.
We read in a group with the teacher every week. Spellings are taught and tested on a Wednesday, and reinforced throughout the week through word and sentence work as well as handwriting. We have daily phonics and quick Maths sessions which practise our Key Instant Recall Facts such as number bonds and counting in 2s 5s and 10s
